I just found this brief video on the Sapiens anthropology site. I found it somewhat interesting especially the last minute or so of the video (it’s only 3 minutes long). Seems to me that more of us ought to understand that last minute.

You’re talking about the baby’s brain? Fascinating, huh?

I’m not sure I entirely approve of the video as a whole, however, since it seems to conflate metabolically healthy fat people with the obese who are metabolically deranged. The point about fat being prized as an indicator of prosperity is valid, of course, but I wish they had talked just a little about the difference between acquiring body weight in the context of a hunter-gatherer society and acquiring weight in the context of a sugar-laden dietary environment.

Hi Paul,
I agree, when I first listened to it I thought this is something that really gives a wrong message for most of our obese society. For that reason I am reluctant to refer anyone to it. That being said the baby stuff was good stuff that would be
nice to take home and disseminate.
