So hungry ☹️

#1

Ahh only day two but I’m starving … had my day all pre planned macros and calories and I’m already over just so hungry…

Here’s what I’ve eaten
3 pieces of bacon 2 eggs
1tbsp coconut oil

1 1/3lb angus patty with 1 tbs mayo

5oz chicken tenderloin with sautéed onion and 1 tbs mayo

1 serving macadamia nuts

Not sure what I’m having for dinner but man I feel like I’m eating too much :frowning:
Hoping this starving feeling will pass I know initially it’s difficult … I was trying to not eat dairy this time and see how I do!

It’s not about not eating. Eat fat until you’re not hungry.

Seriously don’t worry about overeating. Too much analysis in the beginning will not help. If you’re hungry, eat fat.

agree with the others here. I made the mistake in the beginning of keeping calories low and getting all my macros. Was cold and hungry and not having good time. Started not caring about calories, and ate fat until I was satiated. much mo better!!!

Funny you say that! I just texted my husband I’m cold and hungry lol :joy:… through some bacon in the oven hopefully that hits the spot :relieved:

Personally, I would throw some veg in there. I find a lot of protein actually makes me hungrier. You can also load the butter on veg. So… for example, I would add some mushrooms to you breakfast cooked in lots of butter. They also work well in scraping up all the egg yolk. You could add some super buttery spinach to one of the meat courses. A bit of lettuce with another.

I also get held up with dairy but only lactose - so butter and zero or near zero carb cheese is fine.

Drink a shed load of water/tea/coffee. Often hunger is actually just thirst.

Don’t worry about how much you are eating in this early stage. Just get through the carb withdrawal and move towards getting fat adapted. I pretty well guarantee that you appetite will decrease in a month or so, maybe sooner.

It is normal to worry about eating too much or eating too much fat. THis is just a leftover from years of calorie counting and fat phobia. Just keep plodding on.

I think it is possible to still feel hungry while eating enough protein and fat, on your first couple of days of keto eating. Especially if your body is addicted to carby foods, or brain looking for the next sugar hit.

Need to live through it, and eat lots of delicious fatty stuff, like bacon and butter, to distract your brain and taste buds. Like distracting a baby with dangling keys. Once you switch over to burning fat only for fuel, fat adaptation will slowly cancel the carb cravings, and start to crave fats instead.

3 pieces of bacon with 2 eggs in 1 tbs coconut oil is about ~400 calories.

beef patty is 300 calories plus 100 for the mayo

chickekn is about 200 plus 100 for the mayo.

macadamia nuts are 200 cal for a 1 ounce serving.

by my math this is 1300 calories. No wonder you’re hungry.

Also you’ll be depleting your usual fuel (sugar) way faster than your ketone production gets ramped up so you may feel sort of bottomless for the introductory phase of keto. Just keep at it, eat fat until you’re comfortable (not stuffed) and carry on.

For the first week or so, eat as much as you feel like eating, just make sure it’s all keto. After your body adjusts you won’t feel as hungry and then you can adjust how much you’re eating.

I found after a week or so of eating as much keto food as I wanted that suddenly I felt full all the time. Remember you are embarking on a journey.

This is something almost all of us have gone through. Hang in there. There is a light at the end of the tunnel…

As so many have already said, in the beginning eat however much you want as long as it’s Keto.

Personally for my first few weeks I didn’t check for any nutrition besides carbs and sugar. I didn’t try to replace the foods I was eliminating and just basicly went Atkins and I are ALOT of it and honestly it was mostly protein to get me thru the transition; 2lb steaks, bacon, eggs, tuna fish, chicken wings, etc…(3000 calories a day easy at first)
Then one day 3 weeks in I decided to start checking all my macros and naturally I was SPOT on with my protein just from listening to my Hunger, low on carbs and I was even lower on fat macro then where I could potentially be for my desired numbers.

Stick to it, it’s seriously worth it. You get to a point where keto food is so much better then the carbage, full disclosure I chose to lightly cheat today on vacation in Asheville for the very first time in 5 months, and honestly I don’t miss anything I sampled today that wasn’t keto and every thing I enoyed and would have again was already keto. Best of luck! KCKO

Cold is a sign your body wants some more fat. Bacon Butter and Brie are my best friends
