I’m an ex meat and salt hater! So you’d think…but how?
Well, one day I was chilling on YouTube, I see an interview with Snow Tha Product, she’s a rapper, for those who don’t know, I’m like oooh let me check it out.
I notice this girl looks bomb but I remember her a bit chubbier, well CHUBBY-ER and I’m like wooooah… what did you do? No wonder the interview lady asked the same thing and her answer is - Keto. I’m like, what the f is keto? I read up on it and bro… it’s been a month now since I’m on it! The same girl that was extremely against eating meat and I just didn’t like it, but tell me why does bacon tastes good all of a sudden?
I effed up the first week, I did. Pizza just appeared in my life and then chips came and the rest is history. BUT, I did not feel like I was in a ketosis after a week and I probably wasn’t because I was still trying to figure this thing out. My number one mistake!!! GUM!!! I was so scared of bad breath, I chewed shiiitloads of gum, thinking this is sugar free but bruv, who knew there’s carbs in a pack of Orbit?!
Okay, back on track the 2nd week. Boom, a 5 yr olds birthday and a pistacchio cake. That did not feel good after. I started to notice that after I’ve been almost carb free, I get pretty sick and sleepy after cheating so I was like nope, enough of that. My 2nd mistake, I did not count my carbs, fats, anything. Did not drink enough of water and like I said, I hated salt. Up until this Monday when I realized I am definitely in a ketosis and please stop reading now if you just ate, but for the first time in my life I basically, basically shat my pants because I trusted that fart, I genuinly did. And oh the keto flu hit hard, so I quickly read that I need some salt in my life and I have no problem with it now, if that means I feel better, because the flu killed me. I never thought I’d have it though, I’ve read about it, but I was like, I’m a G, watch me, I will never have a keto flu.
I’m going to tell you what I eat in a day basically.
I barely ever eat breakfast so my first meal would be around 1-2PM and that would be like scrambled eggs baked in butter & added regular milk or unsweetened almond milk or cashew milk. Bacon or sausages and unsweetened coffee with some of the milks. If I’m at work, it’s usually like sausages again, string cheese ALWAYS or veggies, something very simple.
So that’s my first meal and then my next meal is at 10,11PM and that would be like roasted cauliflower, broccoli, with sour cream or grilled salmon with leafy salads, I add spinach and parsley everywhere, everyday.
And that’s pretty much it, no snacks unless I “give up” and throw a few berries in my mouth. I never was a big eater but I do weigh 95kg and I’m 5’5".
I haven’t learned how to love avocado yet and for some reason scared of nuts & sun flower seeds. I count my carbs now and one day it may be 11-15, one day 25-30, depends. I do not cross the 30 line. My fat and protein should be good because butter is added everywhere, olive oil, mayo. Can there be TOO MUCH fat and protein where it’s not keto friendly anymore? What about curry and cayenne pepper? I love those two but is it okay if I add them everywhere?
I drink lots of water now and green tea. I also take 2 tablets of fish oil and a tablet of magnesium.
I still, obviously don’t know anything yet but so far, I’ve been enjoying my keto month and I can’t see myself eating all that junk ever again.
