Smithfields Meat Market Closing

This is an end of an era. Just a bus ride away I’ll miss it.
Here’s one I bought today. And a cooked one from yesterday.

Looks delicious - sorry your favorite “dealer” is shutting down.

Reading the label, it took me a moment to realize - between the currency and metric weight system - that your pricing isn’t much different than ours here in the US (at a Costco).

Such things would be a lot easier to grasp if we hadn’t gotten stuck with someone’s antiquated Imperial weights and measures. :uk:

Yeah thats a good price and a nice fat steak. For that kind of quality we in the UK could easily pay double .

My usual price for grass finished pasture raised ribeye from my local supermarket is $56 per kg. ($15.99 for a 10 oz. boneless steak). Not the quality I can indulge in often, unfortunately.

Peter
Do you know why it is closing? Cheap supermarkets making it too hard?

It’s a big old sprawling Victorian building right in the middle of London. Prime for re-developement sadly.
