Small Victories

I am also in my third week of Keto. I have lost 10 lbs so far, and I’m trying very hard to focus on my NSV’s. Here’s one. Two to three times a week we receive a large Dental order from a supply company. They always include a huge bag of candy. Funny, I know. That used to be a huge incentive for us. We would run to the bag and choose our favorites. But today, the order came, and I was not distracted at all! Yay me! Oh, and two movies with my kids this week. Neither one with popcorn or pop! Enjoyed my ice cold ice water!

That is so amazing! Look at you go!
I used to loveeeee popcorn, that and fries were my favorite things to eat.
Candy at a dentist office, interesting…
Haha. Good job though!

I was wanting to create a night time drink treat that isn’t alcohol or coffee and herbal tea just wasn’t doing it - something like my favourite keto find the morning coffee bomb, except caffeine free. So I found a carob sweetener with relatively low carbs and gave it a try on Friday. Proceeded to completely go on a carb fest like how I used to before keto. Have realised that I am utterly sugar intolerant and this whole weekend I’ve been buzzy and irritable. Am SO glad I’ve accepted that keto is not only WOE but now WOL because previously on any “diet” I would be so miserable. Now I’m looking forward to continuing. Better. My NSV!

Yay, I’m glad you’ve come to that realization!

Well a few days ago I got strep throat and it hurt to eat or drink. So I decided to turn a negative into a positive and now I’m fasted for 3 days. Gonna keep going as long as I can. Nothing better than feeling like you are accomplishing something when you feel so terrible.

It’s a great strategy because we always want things we can’t have

I find the few times I have given into temptation in situations like these, I’m always very disappointed with the experience. We tend to build up a false conception of how good sugary foods are. Kind of like craving a cigarette, after the first puff, it’s like this is disgusting
