I am finding it hard to get in all my Protein. I am just not hungry enough to eat so much food. I found that Slimfast advanced has 20grams of Protein, 1net carb, 5 fiber. I find it easy to drink in the morning with some food. I also see that it also has sucralose in it. I have read that it’s something that should be avoided on Keto. Thoughts?
Slim fast advanced
What do you consider “all your protein” to be? How many grams, or what percentage of your diet?
Most people have the opposite problem. Just eating fatty meats will put your protein at or above levels needed.
Huh, I went to school with a Jamie Lynn, in Michigan. But honestly I would try to find ways I get Whole Foods. Protein shakes aren’t very filling plus their expensive.
Things have been going great, I feel great I have lost 19lbs in 1 month. It just seems easier for me to drink that down instead of trying to eat a bunch of food to equal that amount of pro
Slightly less or slightly more shouldn’t be a huge deal, just eat til you feel full. Eat fatty meats, burger ect. Bacon eggs. Make sure your getting more fat to protein ratio each meal, your calories probably should be higher. Maybe if we knew age, male or female, height. Could be helpful.
Why are your calories so low? That’s set for a CICO diet, not Keto. You risk slowing your matabolism down if your are under eating.
44 female, 5’2, 189lbs I do have the fatty meats the other 2 meals in the day. I eat between 8am-4pm
I’m not a big fan of canola oil, maltodextrin or sucralose, but if you’re comfortable with your macros and the sucralose doesn’t tweak your BG like it does for some people, I don’t see why this would be “forbidden” on a keto diet. But how about eggs? Awesome source of protein And fat, not a lot of bulk, and a traditional breakfast food too.
I’m 5’2” 133 pounds and I’m eating an average of 1600 calories a day. You are definately under eating. It may work to take off some weight in the short term, but it’s going to put you into a stall and slow down fat adaption if you aren’t already there.
I am Female, same height, I am younger but I eat more like 1500 calories. I am sedentary as well. Might want to up your fats slightly and try to get more whole protein sources. A few lower days won’t hurt, but your body will adjust its metabolism. Best to keep it guessing. I do sometimes only eat 1200 calories sometimes 1600 sometimes 1400. I just eat til full. Always change it up for my body.
I can hardly eat the food I have in my 1300 cals now. I have no idea how the heck i would eat more food. I am not hungry, I have no cravings. I will try to sort it out I guess Thanks everyone for your feedback
I eat a lot of 70/30 or 73/23 hamburger meat, easier way to get out of protein and fat. Also bacon is a quick easy way to up the fat and protein.
It would be helpful to know what you’re eating. This is quite common. The trick for people struggling to get in more calories during the adaptation phase is to only eat foods that are high in fat percent. As fat has 9 calories per gram and carbs and protein have 4 per gram, you can double your calories without adding bulk to what you’re eating.
I would even eliminate food that’s low in carbs and typically Keto friendly if it didn’t have a high fat content. At least until you become fat adapted. Then you can add them back in. There’s lots of substitutions you can make, but we’d need to see what you’re eating to be able to help you.
Sent you a message with what i ate yesterday sorry its a mess trying to copy and paste did not work out so well
Fat is 9 kCals/gm. Protein is 4. Eat more more more fat. You can do it. Slowly raise your daily consumption of energy so that you can ramp up your metabolism and kickstart the body’s repair process.
Weight loss - don’t worry so much about that
Macros - the only one that really matters is eliminating carbs. If you don’t eat lean meats (foul breast meat), you won’t over protein.
(OMG did I just have a Freudian misspelling up there )
-
A heavily processed food? (e.g. = fatty liver including fatty pancreatic and muscle tissue?)
-
20 grams of processed protein per serving? (might be turning into sugar the next day spiking insulin sky high[1]?)

Thank you that’s what i was trying to find out. I won’t be having that anymore and try to cram in more food
