I try not to live in anger. It’s incredibly unhelpful and a waste of time. However, the modern crime of conventional diet advice is removing fat from One’s repertoire and spending money on STUPID kind bars.
Oh hi
I swear I’m a nice person.
I’ve just been ripped off for years buying things I don’t even miss now that I eat proper food with actual nutritional value.
Feeling so good this morning post avocado/chaffle mash & coffee.
Slightly Angry
I believe the real answer is eat real food and stay away from highly processed and refined so called foods
Hi there. Anger is a feeling that leaves one very drained. And when we are on a journey to heal our bodies we need all the energy we can get. I feel instead of anger, even though I’ve been through several illnesses over the years, immense gratitude for having discovered this WOE, a better way to live. I am so grateful for the knowledge I now have to nourish my body the way it deserves, it’s been through a lot, but I believe it is healing, my body and I, we are best pals now, I listen to its wise voice, always.
As they say, living well is the best revenge. Perhaps you can derive some satisfaction (not to mention revenge) by eating a (subversive) keto diet? It’s exactly what “they” don’t want us to eat, lol!
I pretty much stay away from dietary advice, it doesn’t do good to my peace of mind either and I am a hedonist… Hate feeling sad and powerless, it’s not even proper anger, that feels way better. But the feeling of helplessness… That’s horrible, all the negative things inside and I CAN’T use it like I sometimes can anger. Hate is similarly bad, I don’t do that.
At least I never followed them, at least the low-fat things. I can’t even wrap my head around that, NO WAY I do that. It’s my room 101 (unless it happens on keto sometimes, that works).
I just keep rooting for my country to keep eating lots of fat, meat, have new good farms… Some people are delusional and still give out advice most people definitely won’t follow, the radio says the probably very surprising and sad news that Christmas wasn’t very vegetarian again (but why would it be? just like I had many such ones, it’s not typical and if one eats meat a few times a year, it happens at Christmas)… It was so weird hearing that…
If people would stop eating tons of carbs, that would be especially good but I don’t see that happening either. But maybe some more than this far…? One can hope. And not because they get diabetes and the doc says they should go lower…
I always say people should care about their health more and I am right but sadly, some does but follow the bad advice… And that is everywhere…
Agreed. But the whole of society has been misinformed for decades about nutrition or perhaps centuries. Weren’t the Egyptian slaves the first to start processing crops?
We are in the middle of a worldwide obesity and energy crisis and although nutrition is only one part of the solution I think it is the most important.
If the population ate well would they eat less and carry less weight too? How much energy is consumed but remains unused in our bodies for years?
How much could we save and how much pesticides could we stop using if the population ate in a more natural and keto way?
For this to happen we would have to change society by informing them. Currently my OMAD and occasional fast is just not understood by the vast majority of people who ask. Isn’t good clear well evidenced information the key?
I can’t be angry for long but I can inform when people ask and I can support the local farming community by buying in their shops.
I was listening to a podcast this morning (Science Friday), and the person being interviewed said something along the lines of 40% of greenhouse gas emissions are due to meat processing (or something like that). Completely ridiculous.
And I am “angry” that my kids are getting brainwashed in school as to what is a “healthy” diet. (I’m never really “angry” – or very rarely anyway.)
Absolutely. The health care industry is what generates 40% of greenhouse gasses.
The total emissions due to all agriculture combined are something like 24% of greenhouse gasses, and meat production is a small percentage of that. Peter Ballerstedt gives the figures in a number of his lectures.
Yeah, I remember it being quite small, and meat being slightly less than other farming. And that’s with CAFOs and poor conditions for chickens, both of which I’d like to see remedied (edit: or at least addressed).
They need to put down the pipe filled with whatever meat-free substance they’re smoking.
All ‘land use’ - for forestry as well as agriculture - plants and animals both - is less than 20%.
The Big Kahuna is Energy - Industrial, Residential and Commercial, and Transportation. Over 70% there.
Well, first, holding onto anger and such is like YOU drinking the poison, waiting for the other to die… It makes no sense, and you know that. So you are good.
Look at the cost to them. Total up what you USED to spend on those bars.
Now look at the savings. And then multiple out, how much you will save, for the rest of your life.
You should be STARTLED a bit. Good. That’s what keeps them in business…
And to REALLY get them back. Become a mouthpiece for the low-carb movement. First, be a shining example. Second, quote those numbers to your friends/family. Make sure they know the true cost of that convenience crap. And realize your savings can be multiplied by the NUMBER of people you bring with you!
And then… Compound the interest. Get them to be just like you. Then they won’t be able to afford to advertise, pay for bad science, etc.
Eventually the truth wins… But only after EVERY LIE is overcome!
I agree, however, I feel so blessed to have discovered this WOE, I can’t feel angry. Honestly, I was so despondent before starting that I prayed and prayed for an answer (someplace my ego doesn’t allow me to go often) - and it wasn’t a week later that I discovered keto. I attribute that to Divine intervention. It’s been my personal miracle. It makes me incredibly sad to see how many people who suffer from obesity and poor health, especially when I am in the grocery store and look at stuff in people’s carts. I was in BJs today (similar to Sam’s, Costco), and I swear there was a person who had to have had at least twenty family size boxes of cereal. I half wondered if they were buying for a daycare or something. Now that’s a nutritious choice to feed kids (I used to LOVE cereal because it was all sugar!).
My MIL is a scout leader and she was rattling off the stuff they’re learning to make as part of the whole camping experience … S’mores, hotdogs in buns, some kind of cake you make using 7up to leaven it, canned whipped cream on everything, I thot my God, eight years old and already learning food addiction, this mess is never going to end.
I am not angry about what I used to eat. That was totally my choice, my education level, what I knew at the time. Was I listening to the media and trying to do what they said? Yep. Mostly failing because what they were suggesting was so bloody hard: eating plants and eating low fat. I now know different, and it is so easy.
What makes me angry is that the authorities who manage the dietary guidelines and the medical standards of care know that their rules and guidance are wrong, but they cannot backtrack because of the likely financial and legal repercussions. The cost of this is early death and disease for a large chunk of the population. Frankly it is outrageous.
It is all about money, the money from the big companies that control the process crap they call food, the pharmaceutical companies that want to make everyone addicted to their crap, and unfortunately doctors and hospitals that are being paid to write the prescription instead of doing preventative medicine, and the government employees and elected officials that are greedy, corrupt and care only about their bank accounts.
With you there. Avoiding industrialized crap is a sport! Now drying my own meats, sugar and crap-free!
I know at least a couple of people who tried and failed when going keto by eating all these wretched, overpriced fake keto bars, shakes, and low-carb meal plans.
I got ALL KINDS of ANGRY around the food industry, the info out there and what our kids are being told and how schools feed kids and OMGosh so much more LOL Lately tho, now longer in to my eating plan and feeling fine, I dropped that anger and it flipped to sadness and dismay over it all. I let the anger go. I was feeling too damn good in my own body thru my healthy eating to hold onto it any longer But now I think ‘food out there’ and I just get a sadness over it all. ugh.
The fat hatred died a long time ago, have not not seen how much the fact fat is good has re-enterned the mainstream? Ever go down the ideal with the now 10 dozen bulk fats from everything theres is, eggs are huge again, avacados coconut oil etc.
That started with the Paleo crowd, Keto hitting fad status pushed it but all of us together are the 1%, it’s not us buying it all, everybody is, the market wouldn’t support it otherwise.
Also, I like Kind bars, tasty snack.
people support the food, all of it from eating fresh product to good meats and then add the processed junk…ya got SAD here ---- as we all know sucks rocks. And I hate it means Standard American Diet LOL in that many countries are eating this way so I think it should be re-named actually but darn if SAD ain’t just a great nickname for it all…Ick processed junk along with the ‘good stuff’ like tons of bacon and morning donuts, fatty meats and greasy loaded fries and more all just add into the worst menu one can ever eat. Great food is eaten, not a doubt, but combined with the crap ya got SAD which is what all of us walked right away from…the combo foods eaten to wreck and ruin us.
I personally wouldn’t touch a Kind Bar for all the tea in China, wait I dropped tea too HAHA
just sayin’ what one eats is what one needs ‘when in our group of eaters’ and we make it work…but what one drops in our ‘keto/carnivore/paleo lifestyles’ is again key for each of us. Some gonna love a Kind Bar, some gonna run from them
I do love this attitude! And I agree, provided one has the time and motivation and to some extent money, it can be almost fun to ski the slalom between the obstacle posts Big Food, Big Med, and Big Pharma put up, haha, missed me again! Still, the overall amount of suffering, distraction, and waste of potential that causes the human race is disgusting.
