Shock your system?

Week 6 here, doing well and down 20 lbs. Energy good for the most part. I have read a few things about “shocking your system” with an occasional higher carb day and wondering if there is any truth or benefits to that? Any input would be appreciated!

I am in favor of throwing the body a curve once in a while. Extra calories, carb meal, whatnot. Turbulence was the term I learned for it.

I generally think of turbulence as a stall breaker, rather than an ongoing feature.

As someone who is no longer pre-diabetic, I am not interested in spiking my insulin production, lest I return whence I came.
