Sharing Update of Recent Labs

(Drew) #1

Evening everyone

Though I would share recent lab I did over weekend. Kind of curious if anyone has information on raising TSH? It was over 1. last blood work but recent brings it back down to 0 and my T3/T4 raised.

Why do you want to raise TSH? Super high T3 and no TSH means you’re either a freak, or you’re taking T3. Are you (not) on Thyroid replacement?

My doc was saying that meant my thyroid was attacking itself and I had or have Graves disease.

One thing I noticed after thinking about it. I lose weight with TSH at 0 whereas I had not if if was active.

I’m not on any thyroid stuff or t3. It’s always been high. I was taking trt gel for low testosterone but I was down to once a week or every other week on that and now my testosterone is highest its been. I’m not going to take any pills.

Those numbers by themself’s don’t mean anything, it was taken thyroid antibody tests and then of course looking for tumors etc.

You’d definitely lose more that way, but that’s a result of your T3 being high, not the TSH being low/0. The more T3, the more calories you burn. If it’s normal (for you) to be high like that, it’s probably fine. The TSH being zero’d is weird just in the sense that I’ve never seen that minus people being on T3, but also makes sense, there’s clearly no reason to make more, so no need for TSH.

Once a week for a gel is weird, those are fast acting which is why you usually use them daily, every week or every other would create huge spikes and troughs. That can have an effect on both estrogen and SHBG, which has links to thyroids acting weird. You want stability with the test levels. But if your tests near and at the end show test levels stable, you’re just a one off case there. Not sure how high your levels are, but since that’s subjective, lower levels can also make thyroids act weird. Many docs have people in there 30’s with test levels of seniors and claim it’s fine. I try to hover around 1000 or so, which seems to be optimal for most.

You’ve gotten a TSH of zero before?

My TRT is good now at about 651, higher would be better which I’m sure it’ll continue to go up. I’m going to keep checking on it to make sure it never dips below 500 again. When it was in the 200s, I felt like terrible. I haven’t taken the gel in a while, month or more. I ended up getting to the point of forgetting about it.

My T3 was in the 8s at one point, considered hyperthyroidism but I felt fine with no issues or side effects that the Doc had brought up.

Yeah, all tests but 1 in 2023, it was always 0, going back to Nov 2019. I’m not even sure when it was first brought up about graves disease/hyperthyroidism. Explains why I never got above 310lbs no matter how much garage I had ate prior.

There’s also the “personal fat threshold”, which is a theory that you’ll only get to a certain point and won’t get further. I never really understood how it worked, though.

Makes sense, It’s quite an interesting theory either way. I weighted in at 290 at Doc’s and I’ve been putting on muscle in the last year going to the gym. So it’s more interesting that I have not gained nor lost weight. Which I’m good with too, no sudden drop in weight that usually happens with hyperthyroidism from what I read and experienced when I did ketro few years ago.
