Scale victory... not to the goal yet but headed that way

Weight goes up and weight goes down. It’s kinda like the tide going in and out. And so it’s been for the last, well, it’s a little over a year now.

Yesterday, I saw the mark on the scale that said I have lost 70 pounds! (Honestly, it might be a little more, I was pretty reluctant to actually step on a scale in mid 2017. I suspect it wasn’t that much below that 300 mark. OUCH. NOT good.) I’ve officially declared the starting weight to be 285. Yesterday, I saw 215.

Oh, I know it will be back up a little. It’s like a kid sticking his toe in cold icy water and recoiling. But despite the slooooooooow progress, the general trend is still down. And I’m fine with that. I’m in no particular hurry. I feel good. And I eat well, very well in fact. I don’t go hungry although I might skip the occasional breakfast and call it “intermittent fasting”. Probably was more like “just not hungry 'cause I ate too much for supper last night”. (And a normal day is only two meals anyway, no snacks.)

The goal is “One-derland”, pretty much anything with a one as the first number instead of a two (or three). It’s been a very long time, probably 16 or 17 years. Will it happen yet this year? Don’t know. Maybe, maybe not. Not worried in the least.

Just wanted to share. Yes, I’ve had months where the scale didn’t move much. I’ve even had months when it went up just a little. Heck, I have about a 9 pound range that I live in and that’s normal for me. Granted, the 215 number is the bottom of the range. But it’s the lowest I’ve seen yet. I’ll take it!

My dear wife had to come along and correct me. She said it was probably closer to the beginning of August when we started this. So that means we’re almost at the 1 year mark, coming up on it. I should have written it down somewhere… Guess I didn’t realize how much impact it was going to have.
