I have read Dr Fung’s books and watched his videos, i know he says you lose fat and gain muscle, how short of a Dexa scan can you tell in hard data the numbers are switching?, i can see some more definition and feel better, any cheaper solutions? $150 a pop out of pocket isn’t something in my budget at the moment.

Presuming standard american diet fat stores, a tape measure will more than suffice. Whether you’re building muscle or not, everyone appreciates seeing these values favorably shift.

BodPod is about half the price of DEXA, Omron makes a handheld impedence one that’s actually pretty accurate. It’s been within 1.5% of my last 2 BodPod results. Unless you’re in the gym though, I wouldn’t hold your breathe on the gaining muscle from the diet thing.
