I don’t know about the dopamine, but I do know that it’s normal to have a post-prandial endorphins surge which interacts w/ brain receptors and makes us happy.
My hunch is that a fat-nourished brain is the Original Happy - considering that 99% of human history was hunter-gatherer, fully fat-adapted, and gained its first 20-25 pounds exclusively via fat-adapted gestation and the superfood of maternal mammalian milk the first few years of life!!!
This may certainly be one of the significant root reasons in how uncolonized peoples who live outside industrial civ on the ancient lands of all their ancestors have been reported to be notably happier and free of depression - as opposed to peoples in the process of being victimized by invasion/war and forcibly removed from their ancient lands/traditional eating ways. The fat-adapted brain plus being rooted in the living land, is a quality of life and smarts far different than the colonizer view of what intact aboriginal/indigenous life is about, and cultural values in general. The keto documentary The Magic Pill does a great job at conveying some aspects of this!
