Same weight, still losing fat

It’s been a long steady process to lose weight eating keto. Since July I’ve lost 17 pounds. That doesn’t sound like much but it was 12% of my original body weight! I feel fantastic mentally and physically. For the first time in my life I feel like I have willpower and self-control.
The last month I’ve fluctuated between losing and gaining back the same 5 pounds every week. I was trying not to let myself get obsessed with the scale but I still ended up feeling frustrated that my body wasn’t continuing to change. I decided last month to forget about weight loss for a while and work on strength gains. I wasn’t expecting to lose weight and I haven’t.
But I didn’t expect to keep losing inches either! I had taken measurements of my bust, waist and hips in December. This month I have lost two inches from my bust, and a half inch from my waist and hips.
Yay! KCKO

Ah, body recomposition is a magnificent process! Biology knows what to do with a well-fed brain and strong metabolism.

This is for all of us:

Definitely annoyed at my 4 week stall in weight loss on the scale. However, a massive reduction in inches that seem to go every few days! I liken that to fat loss, recomp, but also probably a large reduction in inflammation. Although I have not lost a pound in 3-4 weeks, in the 70 days I have been on keto, I lost 9 inches around my hips, 10 inches around the stomach, 4 inches off the waist. Not to mention a HOST of health benefits I have noticed including better sleep, more energy, the ability to fast easily and keep cravings to a non-existent level. Cravings and emotional eating was always my biggest battle and it got me to the point of being obese. Thanks to keto I am back in control of my eating habits and am emotionally much happier. Hopefully the ‘whoosh’ will come soon!

Congrats! I’m 6 months in but haven’t lost any weight, just a couple inches. My metabolism is just messed up from a life of hard exercise, some dieting and stress. Plus I’m only trying to lose 15-20 lbs. I made the mistake of weighing myself today. Trying to be calm but I’m action oriented so I do get aggravated at times.

Lisa, I lost 60 lbs in 2015 in six months doing keto. The lbs just fell off me. I’ve gradually regained 40 lbs after going on and off keto every few months or so. Strictly back on keto three months today and I’ve only dropped 12 lbs. it’s hard not to feel discouraged but I’m just going to keep on it. I am going through peri-menopause and am wondering if perhaps my hormones are making it more difficult this time around. Ugh.

From what I’ve been reading and listening to on podcasts, hormones can get even more screwed up on keto. It’s so aggravating because it’s different for every person. Look up Leanne Vogel. She’s one of the biggest sources on keto for women and how it’s different. Here’s a podcast about menopause and keto:

I had heard this but not specifics. Thx, Lisa, for the podcast! I really appreciate it!
