Salt Question

salt

I have not yet upgraded to super salts… just the normal “off the shelf” iodized salt.

I heavily salt pretty much everything, and I eat some through out the day. Should I be worried about the iodine? I know humans need it, but can you over-iodize yourself?

I plan on switching to some of the fancy salts, but at some point I had a great sale and stocked up. I’ve got about 4 containers of iodized salt… so I wanted to wait until I used most or all of that up before I go on a salt shopping spree.

Thanks fellow ketoers.

You can overdose on anything. I’m not sure the dosage limits for iodine though. From what I can tell from a quick search, it seems the topic is a bit controversial right now, as there are some negative effects of too much iodine, but some contend those are not as bad as the effects of too little iodine. But how much is too much?

I am currently reading all posts with the word iodine. This is just here say, I don’t know for sure, but I just read where a gal said her doctor told her she could not ingest too much iodine as the body wastes whatever it doesn’t need. I’ve read so many I’m not sure where that was located but it’s possibly a piece to this puzzle.
