Salmon Patty Topping?

#1

What might I add to Mayonnaise to make a pleasing topping (sauce) for the top of a salmon patty?

#2

Haven’t tried it, but seems like the dried ranch dressing (think Hidden Valley) packets would be good, or some dill with onion and garlic powder. If you’re adventurous maybe some chipotle powder?

Short answer, ANYTHING. Especially when you start with your own homemade mayo. As the recipe says, it’s so ridiculously easy, you’ll never buy mayo again. Towards the end, there are more ideas and links for variations and other dressings and sauces.

Sriracha sauce goes great with mayo!

Sriracha mixed into the mayo with lemon and chives.

Lots of great ideas. Thank you.

I was wondering about that. Thank you.

Make a quick remoulade. That’s a classic…

I have salmon patties every week…indeed had one just an hour ago. I have it in a lettuce with a mayo/little bit of naga chilli (something like: https://www.chilliworld.com/mr-naga-hot-pepper-pickle) dressing. A few cornichons and tomato.

Sometimes (though not usually with salmon but on every other type of fish) I have some cream cheese (usually with some sort of chilli dressing mixed in…can you tell I like chilli!!) and then melt cheddar on top

Good call… I’m gonna need to make some of that.

Awesome. Thank you.

I love that now instead of craving junk I crave healthy food.
I’m so gonna make some patties tonight with some mayo, not sure what to add to it though so I am following your post for suggestions.

I use canned chipotle peppers. Either the adobo sauce that they’re packed in (if I’m using the whisk attachment on my immersion blender), or the peppers themselves if I’m using the blade attachment. Very tasty.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #15

What she said. Yum!

Put this coleslaw and jalapeno sauce on it! Yummiest thing EVER!

I’ve made some Thai salmon patties and made a couple of dipping sauces for them.

One was a Sriracha mayo with mayo, sriracha and red curry paste with 1 drop of Ez sweetz sucralose. The other one I made was soy sauce, lime juice /zest, ginger and thinly sliced green onion. I thought they were great together… one sweet and creamy, the other salty and tangy.

Just had a salmon patty for dinner tonight! I love it with my homemade Tartar sauce.

While the patty is frying in butter flavored coconut oil, I make the Tartar sauce.

Quick and easy: about a tablespoon of mayo (I use avocado oil mayo from Chosen Foods). Mix in some no sugar added sweet pickle relish. Can add some salt and lemon pepper, or a splash of lemon or lime, or anything else you want. Stir and serve.

Mayo mixed with double/ HW cream, add lots of dill, or sourcream & dill.
