Roasted almonds & macadamia - good or bad?

I’m a bit confused from reading about nuts. Some say that roasting them is good because that would remove the Anti-Nutrients, while others say that roasting them would destroy all of their nutrition advantages.

Is there any reason to only eat non-roasted almonds and macadamia nuts? I love my roasted, salted almonds and macadamia, and I probably eat way too much of them, but if it’s an issue, I would revert to non-roasted.

I don’t know about macadamia nuts but as for almonds, there are a few positives about roasting them.

They’re easier to digest when they’re roasted so you probably get a little more actual nutrition out of them. They are also occasionally the carriers of salmonella and the roasting process pretty much takes care of any of that. (If I’m not mistaken, the law dictates that they must be sterilized, either by chemical means or by heat.) They may contain less vitamin E.

Others may have more substantial or more complete info.

Cooking any food will do some damage to an extent. The hotter and longer the more the damage.

Macadamia and pecans are the better nuts to consume and are fine as they are and can’t really see why you would want to roast them, If it’s a taste issue try adding some mct oil and pink Himalayan salt.

Raw is always better with what ever you can.

You should probably avoid almonds due to the phytic acid and omega 6 fats.

I think roasted is ok but probably not ideal. I’ll get nuts & seeds raw when I find them at reasonable prices. Soaking and low temp dehydrating or sprouting can improve digestibilty of many varieties.

Honestly, the texture of raw almonds or Macadamias would probably limit my consumption very effectively. Dislike the texture. Better roasted. Not terribly worried about nutrition degradation.
