Can I eat rice if I keep rice carb within a limit?
For example 50 gm rice has only 14 gm carbs.
Please help…
Rice
Rice is not ketogenic and is likely to cause an insulin reaction, although some may say that if it works for you do it, it’s the insulin reaction you want to avoid. Only way you’ll know if it affects you this way would be to try it and test your blood sugar afterwards.
It depends on your personal tolerance for carbs. If you find your blood glucose spiking, you feel sleepy soon after, or have other problems, then probably best not to eat rice. I can do a bit, once in a while, but I do notice the reaction.
White rice is not good food.
Makes your insulin spike.
Harder to be Keto with rice.
Maybe. I would be more concerned about glycemic index than just carb count. You don’t want to have giant spikes of insulin. I would encourage you to look into the effects of grains on gut flora and general well being. Best case scenario, they will lower ketone production slightly and cause your brain and body to have less energy than it could when you’re not eating rice. You might want to ask yourself why you want rice and if it’s worth it to potentially slow your results or compromise health. On that note, i would choose rice over bread
Rice is our main food.and I m missing rice.
I had 50 gm (14 gm carbs)rice today…and feeling energetic,satisfied,and fuller.
It will easy for me if I add rice only 50 gm in my diet so I can eat rice and veggies in lunch (@work)
If I eat only veggies n normal keto food I feel hungry n bit depressed.
I will add rice 3 days in a week and will see the results. After rice I didn’t feel insulin spike n all.
Keep in mind that a lot of those feelings are related to sugar addiction and they will fade witch cessation and time. But my wife is Japanese so i understand the necessity to consume rice socially. Hopefully it works for you. Keep us postef
There is some evidence that parboiled rice has a lower glycemic index, although it depends on the processing:

I know many Indian grocery stores market it as “Diabetic Rice”, but I’m not sure that makes it healthy or that it fits within the keto WOE.
Rice is not really ketogenic, if you are highly insulin resistant then its not a good idea.
