Results at my 1st Ketoversary

(Rob) #1

So, Saturday 22nd September 2018 was my 1st Ketoversary, so I thought I’d share some changes I’ve had since I started Keto a year ago…

Blood Pressure: from 160/89 (on meds) to 136/83 (off meds)

Resting heart rate: from 80 bpm to 76 bpm

HbA1C: from 35mmol/mol to 38 mmol/mol (an upturn, but still in a good range)

Triglycerides: from 3.2 mmol/L to 0.8 mmol/L

HDL: from 1.31 mmol/L to 1.46 mmol/L

Non HDL: 5.9 mmol/L (this changed in 2018 from LDL and I am unable to see LDL for 2017 in EMIS).

Peak flow rate: from 500 L/min to 590 L/min (Asthma gone).

BMI: from 30.1 kg/m2 to 25.6 kg/m2

Waist size: from 34 inches to 30 inches

oh and 12.5 Kg lost

Non-measurable observations.

Mood is improved, generally feel more levelled.

Sleep improved.

Plantar Fasciitis gone.

Occular migraines gone.

No days off work sick (first time I can remember never having at least 1 day off!)

More inclined to exercise (almost certainly linked to weight loss).

I’m so much happier about my body now and feel more positive about the future. I owe a deep debt of gratitude to @Richard and @Carl for making the 2 Keto Dudes podcast and for making a massive difference to my life as a result. I can’t see myself ever going back to those carb-abuse days now I know the damage it was doing to my body.

So what do you do on your Ketoversary? Go surfing obviously!..

I’ve not reached my first anniversary yet, but I am going strong at 21 weeks, entirely fat adapted.

That’s a great result, amazing effort, you should be proud!
