Researcher argues that a balance of types of fat is the key

Here is an interesting article from a professor of medicine at Vanderbilt University:

The conclusion of the researcher is that an equal balance of fats between saturated, mono-unsaturated, and poly-unsaturated fats, in an overall higher-fat diet, was effective.

This is the study her team performed on which she bases the article:

Don’t forget tallow and bacon grease!

The only PUFA’s we need are ω-3’s and ω-6’s, and we don’t need that much. A third of the fat as PUFA is too much. Also, I notice that the particpants were eating around 95 grams of carbohydrate, so unless they were guaranteed to be insulin-sensitive, I don’t think the results have all that much to do with those of us trying to eat a well-formulated ketogenic diet.
