Rendering lard - with photos

My brother raised a pig (pastured, free range) had it slaughtered, and got all sorts of tasty cuts and sausages. But, he didn’t know what to do with the fat. I told him to keep it in the freezer and when I’m visiting for Christmas, I will show him how to render it.

well, check out what we did today!! We chopped up the pork fat, rendered it in a big steel pot, and made several jars of delicious lard, and also delicious pork rinds
