Recommendations for store bought bone broth

(Jamie) #1

I’m currently in the middle of my keto flu and I feel like salt water isn’t enough right now, I won’t be home for another week so I’m able to make my own bone broth. Does anyone know of some easily accessible store bought bone broth that I can get? I hear a lot of them aren’t keto friendly and can’t find much about store bought ones on here!

This is a pretty good recipe for “ketorade” that helps me. HTH

(sorry I forgot the link in my previous deleted post!)

I added some grated ginger and it reminded me of Gingerade kombucha

If you have the good fortune to be near a restaurant that makes Vietnamese pho (pronounced “fuh”, most will sell you a quart of hot, fresh, delicious broth–which is pho without the trimmin’s.

Oh that’s perfect! There’s one right by my house. I’m not sure if you can answer this for me but do I count it in my daily macro count or should I not worry about that?

I count it.

See my post on Pho. A lot of it has Sugar added. I would call it Pho-ny.

I love Bonafide Chicken Bone Broth. It comes frozen. I add a little butter, turmeric, ginger, sea salt and cayenne pepper. It really doesn’t need all that added, I just want the added nutrients. It’s a little pricey @ about $8 for 3 servings.
Hope you feel better!

Buying bone broth at all seems like a waste for me, considering that I make a better tasting broth in a crock pot from the leftover bones and skin of roasted chicken. But then, I’m retired and I have more time than money.

I love the bone broth sold at Winco. I don’t recall the brand, but it’s sold back in the meat section in a refrigerated case. It goes a long way for me, and it has a lot of flavor. They usually have beef and chicken flavors (and sometimes turkey, but that may just have been a seasonal thing).

I make a hot drink by taking my 24 oz contigo mug, adding an inch or two of the bone broth, adding in some Himalayan pink salt and filling the rest with boiling water. Or, you can make “bullet proof’” bone broth by adding in butter, MCT oil it HWC, etc and blending it.

MADE IN THE USA

It all starts with 100% grass fed beef or organic chicken bones made with organic ingredients, which we are proud to source from small family farms who raise their animals without any added hormones and antibiotics. …More

I would prefer to make my own but I’m currently away from my home until next week and the house that I’m staying at doesn’t have a crockpot but when I get home I’ll be making my own

If you can’t get bone broth then just get regular broth, add pink salt, maybe add no or lite salt and call it a day. If you want to get fancy then add cream or butter or both to it with some smoked paprika and pepper for a tasty broth.

I don’t have the luxury of making or storing premade bone broth so, I get by with better than bouillon chicken flavor.
