Hi guys, I started Keto on the 1st of January 2020 and did Keto for about two weeks and then switched to carnivore. It was great and I felt like a true cave woman warrior, feeling all the benefits of meat. Until one-day I went to fart, but nope it wasn’t a fart. I had to run quick as lightning to the thunder box but it was too late. I had crapped my pants. Then whenever I drank water, coffee, anything, I would get the gurgle and the need to release the kids to the fiery pits of mordor. It burned too, does anybody else get a burning ring of fire when they have the runs?? Like there’s a hot poker up there?? Owwww. So I quit carnivore and started Keto again. Now 10 days later I’m on the other side of the poo spectrum.
. I’m heavily pregnant with a mud baby, it’s been 10 days and I need to be induced into labour somehow. I’ve tried water with coconut oil, I have tried movocal, I am too scared to try laxatives because I have had serious bowel surgery in the past and had a colostomy bag for a year at 22 years old. So laxatives and enemas are sort of a No No for me. I’m trying coffee with coconut oil now but seriously, the mud baby is just not wanting to be born. All I feel are a few kicks here and there. Stubborn little buggar, well maybe not so little. He may be a 10 pounder.
. Anybody else have this problem??

AHAHAHAHAHA, It’s funny cuz I’ve been there! That’s always the worst. If you wanna stay away from “real” laxatives get some Senna, stuff WORKS! A lot of stimulant laxatives use a version of that themselves. If you’re not gonna leave the house I’ll take 3-4 of them and within a couple hours shit will get real! See what I did there?

No it was ongoing. Who knows. Maybe it just didn’t agree with me. My bowels are weird.
How long is ’ ongoing ’ ?
A dose of bad E Coli can affect you for days…
The best thing I know is to drink a glass of water with a level teaspoon of magnesium citrate and a 1/4 tsp lite salt. It usually works within a couple of hours, and you can repeat it if it doesn’t.
Also when I was new to keto I struggled with the same thing until my body sorted itself out. I used to make chia seed pudding and flaxseed bread.

Thanks for sharing your story. Bowel management is part of everyone’s journey. You sharing your story will help many. Here are some tips: grind flax seeds and mix one cup ground flax seeds with 1/2 cup water. mix well and let stand for 10 minutes. roll out thin on a sheet of aluminum foil- or use wet fingers to press thin- and bake in 15 minute increments at 400 degrees F until it is crispy. Think crackers. You can even open the oven door at the end to help it dry out. Completely keto and good fiber. Be sure to drink plenty of water as you eat them. Also, remember that all Magnesium supplements are not equal. Mg oxide can be taken ‘to bowel tolerance’ and is an essential mineral and an aide for constipation. Take morning, noon and especially before bed with water. Salt water can also be a laxative-so keep up with that. And prunes. Just like your mom might have done for you when you were young. Keep in mind perspective- you don’t want your bowels to get too off the mark here. Initiation of the first bowel movement is the most critical one, don’t ignore fecal urgency. If you feel the urge, go to the bathroom. With a gloved hand you can insert your thumb into your vagina and press into the back wall to splint to help with the initiation of the BM. Or just go back to carnivore! That should do the trick. I had explosive poops the first few weeks of carnivore, very normal part of adaptation. It goes away, then digestion is perfect.

I am not a Dr. but why in the world would you be experimenting with diets during your pregnancy? It’s obvious that your body/baby is reacting in a way that it does not like. Your prime objective is to nourish your body/baby. Get some medical advice.
