I weigh myself every morning ( good and bad) . The funny thing is I get my weight , then go brush teeth go to bathroom weigh myself again and then my weight is usually down another1/2pound from 5 minutes earlier. Is this normal . It’s like this everyday. I was confused so for the last couple nights weighed myself before bed and it’s the same weight when I weigh myself in the morning . I am
Always happy so far with the second weight
Question about scales
Are they digital scales? Some of them seem to almost average previous weights to give less variation. Try weighing something of only a kilo or 2 first, and then letting them turn off, and then weighing yourself and see if that makes a difference.
Mine give 3 different weights if I weigh 3 times in a row, sometimes as much as 0.5lb difference.
Sincere, non-judgemental question: Why is understanding this important for you?
If you drink a pint of water your weight goes up one pound, just a perspective. Our weight is always changing.
I have a digital scale and I stand on one leg to weight myself. Any slight moment during the time the scale is reading can tweak my results.
Does that going to the bathroom include a poop? It’s amazing how “mass”ive those things can be.
Pick one or the other, and use that as your standard.
I always weigh myself at the same time in the same state to avoid too much deviation.
Get up pee, weigh and move on. Going back several times accomplishes nothing. Get a wi fi scale that logs your weight and then observe longer trends.
This is exactly what I do. The best part is that it captures all the data, and doesn’t let me mess with it. It also shows me how useless it is to try to game the system with extra weigh ins.
Hmmm, I like the wifi scale idea. I don’t track but it would be neat to have a tidy little graphic showing the journey.
I have the fitbit aria. I love having all tracker/weight/bfp all sync to one centralized app. Plus the fitbit app gives me all kinds of nifty little graphs.
Your weight constantly fluctuates. That’s why you should only weigh yourself once at the same time, to reduce variables. Watch trends. Don’t obsess over it.
It’s only funny if brushing your teeth caused this.
It doesn’t sound unusual if by going to the bathroom, you mean relieving yourself. Eight fluid ounces is one cup, which happens to weigh half a pound.
