Pull ups with tennis elbow

So, I’ve been battling mild tennis elbow. I use ice pack, take ibuprofin and massage the upper forearm tendon area.

It really hasn’t been bad since I’ve done that, but I’ve noticed that since I started doing pull ups on rings, with the rings turning to where my wrists naturally want to be instead of locked into a bar that it less pressure on my elbow.

Gymnastic rings are cheap, I paid 35 dollars for mine and hanged them in the garage. If you have a set of rings, you literally don’t need a gym anymore. You can travel with them throw them over a tree limb or take them to a park.

If your interested this is me, starting my workout experience with rings. I really did 7 pull ups the first set, but my 7 year old daughter didn’t record it, so after resting I was only able to 4 on the set. Honestly, LoL.

I’m just a novice though and am working to make lots of improvements soon.

Feel free to make suggestions, I don’t take myself too seriously and am always willing to learn.

If regular pull ups are aggravating your tendonitis try false grip pulls ups. When I had chronic golfer’s elbow for a while I found that a false grip took the discomfort out of the equation. This has the benefit of training your false grip which requires a lot of forearm strength, and preparing you for more advanced skills like the muscle up.

Thanks I’ll give it a try.

If your elbow is still bothering you or starts bothering you again, look into a technique called “voodoo flossing”.
