Protein shakes

#1

Hi guys,
Semi newbie here. Can anyone tell me if this protein shake is ok to take on Keto? It’s one of the best shakes I’ve ever had and I would love to keep taking it. The label states that it’s only 3 carbs but are there any reasons I should not take it other than too much protein?

Thanks

There’s nothing wrong with protein shakes but when you are just starting they can be over half your daily allowance for protein and most people would prefer to get that from food.

Like Katie said, nothing wrong with protein drinks. Except it’s probably better to get your protein from real food. And depending on where you are on your carb allowance, many wouldn’t waste 3g on a protein drink. Isopure makes many flavors of 0 carb protein.

Better sources of protein would be chicken thighs, beef, bacon, and eggs. Better use of your carb allowance would be leafy greens.

One ingredient in that protein shake that I personally stay away from and that is the SUCRALOSE; the perfect ingredient that makes your gut flora a mess and will make you crave carbs like crazy, people who are doing the ketogenic lifestyle and doing artificial sweeteners and wonder why they are having many problems?

Any artificial sweeteners are bad business for your health and will devastate your ketogenic diet or non-ketogenic diet eventually?

You eat artificial sweeteners; you are accepting the FDA’s disclaimer concerning “risks?”
