Hey guys! I’m 20 days in and I’ve gone back and forth from great energy and mental clarity to feeling super tired esp in the afternoon. I def need a kick in the afternoon. Overall I feel good. I lost 7 lbs very quickly now I’m just hovering this weight. I’m eating less than 12g of carbs a day and I get really full quick. My fat is usually over 100 and protein is always 20-30g less than that. I wish my app gave me more feedback. I am just wondering how I should be feeling at this point and when will I begin to lose again?
Grateful for any feedback.

If you’re having a slump in the afternoon are you keeping up with the electrolytes? I have a little salt on my tongue & that helps. There’s recipes on here for keto-aide, so you keep up with sodium & magnesium.
The quick 7lbs would probably water weight, I lost a similar amount quickly. I’m new myself (9 weeks), but from reading on here the advice will be that your body is probably healing metabolically, & just to trust the process, be patient & things will shift again. You are still very early in, your body will still be adapting & getting used to using ketones instead of glucose, that can take up to 8 weeks to fully adapt, sometimes even longer.
Hopefully those with more experience can chip in with some more advice, but stick with it, it’s worth it!

What is your height, age, weight, average daily calories? Right now it looks like your calories from rough calculation are about 1300ish. Do you get electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium)?

Thank you! Have you started IF yet? When is the right time to start this?

You may be overdoing the protein. Try limiting it to around a gram per kilo of lean body mass a day and see if that gives you more energy. It’s paradoxical, but apparently too much protein saps energy instead of giving you more. Also, be sure to eat enough fat to leave you satisfied for several hours between meals. That will make sure you are giving your body enough energy do heal and get your metabolism under control.

I just started taking magnesium supplements. I’m hoping that will help. Should I take potassium too? I have no energy these days. I would love to exercise when I get home from work but I’m running on empty! Today was the first day I felt unmotivated to continue this. I def don’t want to stop!

You still didn’t answer my original question. That will be our best tool to help you figure it out.

I’m 48, I am 5.6, and I weigh 130 now (started 138). I only want to lose 5 more. But I would like to make this my WOL if I could figure out how to have more energy. I eat on average 1400 calories, 114 fat, 90 protein, 12 carbs a day.

Thanks so much! I really enjoyed this video. Actually would like to watch it again. I may choose not to IF after this video. Wasn’t really wanting to anyway. So I have a question. What snack do you eat that is high in fat but NOT high in protein? Other than avocados and fat bombs. I’m still hungry after dinner tonight and my fats and proteins are too close together…

Do you like olives? I find them brilliant for upping the fat and filling me up.
