I believe that eating one larger meal is preferable for weight loss than taking in the same food spread out throughout the day. This is because of my personal experience with it.
Before I had ever heard of intermittent fasting I did it accidentally. I was working at a very stressful job where I was going from appointment to appointment all day. I had coffee and maybe a few snacks but ate very little all day while I was working.
Then I would get really hungry and get take out food or go to the grocery store and get whatever I wanted and have a huge meal which would include a large dessert. I got very little exercise at that time and ended up losing a lot of weight.
The weight loss continued until that job ended and I started working from home.
I tried to normalize my diet and make it more healthy by having three smaller meals a day and some healthy snacks. I put on a lot of weight at that time.
When I decided to lose the weight and change my eating habits for good, I started with intermittent fasting without changing what I was eating and that worked. Recalling my previous experience I ate one huge meal a day.
In my intermittent fasting groups I started hearing about people doing intermittent fasting with keto. I started slowly transitioning to IF with keto over the period of a couple of months and went fully keto on January 2nd of this year. It has been a good experience I am losing fat and feel very healthy.
