Problems with understanding

#21

… Obviously a meal of rice is going to cause a higher insulin secretion than a meal of pork chops. I took it for granted that people would understand the claim more food equals a greater insulin response has to be constrained to the same food… control variables. That’s how science is done. If you eat a 16ounce steak with 100 grams of protein and 50 grams of fat a certain insulin secretion amount will be necessary. If you cut that steak in half and eat it over two feedings it will elicit half the insulin response as having consumed the entire steak in one sitting.

you’re probably right. when someone makes a baseless claim and i ask them to justify their point with scientific research i’m being a troll.

still waiting for someone to tell me why eating 50 carbs from an overt carb source in one shot is different than eating 12 net carbs from nuts or vegetables four times a day

also you should heed your own warning. you’ve already responded twice. don’t feed the trolls.

From my experience, eating a LC diet impacts metabolicly deranged people differently than those with a healthy metabolism. So the “rules” are not universal.

Based on your low % bodyfat, you seem to be fit. Have you had blood tests done to determine if you have any metabolic issues? For example, my sister and I have very different carb tolerances, she can maintain ketosis while eating a much larger number of carbs than I.

The effects of being in a physiological state of ketosis has less variation. One common effect is increased energy, which may include a harder time getting to sleep or sleeping less. Still, good sleep is essential to maintaining good health. Do you otherwise have good sleep habits? Are you sure it’s a lack of carbs that’s causing your sleep disturbance? Do you sleep better when your bedtime snack is carby vs fatty?

I suggest figuring out your personal carb threshold. Do not use a rule of thumb, you want eat as many carbs as your body will allow while staying in ketosis. Experiment with allocating most of your carbs at dinner or a bedtime snack.

There is only one way to find an answer to your question. Try, test, adjust. Repeat.

Can you find one and provide a link?

He cites all his research in every article he publishes.

Do I seem upset? You came asking questions and this forum is a great resource. I can’t help it if you don’t like the answers.

This name calling will not be tolerated. @hesitationmarks

Is new to keto, disputes the answers to everything. Yeah that checks out.

I think it’s possible that your problems with understanding are related to you unwillingness to do so.

(TJ Borden) #32

But they can also be entertaining when it’s otherwise slow on the forum.

I was actually thinking chillfatty wouldn’t be a bad screen name.

:joy: day. Made. Thank you for this

I think the comment was mean spirited and rude as hell therefore I flagged the asshole as it was well deserved.

(TJ Borden) #36

I figured it was mean spirited, but I wasn’t offended. It has always struck me as funny how 11 months out of the year, my size is something to be mocked, but come December, it’s in demand.

Yes, that’s me. Downtown Seattle Macy’s, 2011 Season.

And that cherry red nose is adorable too! I could make sit on your lap comments but won’t derail this train wreck of a thread any further.

LOVE THIS. You have an amazing attitude. You’ll still be a great Santa when you’re skinny.

(TJ Borden) #40

I might even have to use the stuffed belly pillow some day. Funny, the jacket fit me perfectly au natural :santa:t2:

Another reason to have a LeanKeto section to separate the angry mean skinny folks from the jolly fat ones :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
