Post a previous nemesis

#1

I keep passing by these muffins at my work place- and kinda laugh and cringe at the same time. Sadly, i thought eating them was a good idea because they were calorie dense and free at my workplace. I had eaten them for years before i learned about lchf and keto. Hard to imagine how much damage they’ve done. At least i figured it out and am feeling good now!

Thought it might be fun to see if anyone else had any other nemesis that they have defeated!!

I remember years ago they were even worse- like 450 calories. Can you believe it- 56gm carb and 17gm fat nicely combined in one treat?? For an extra boost- You could pair this with a can of Mountain Dew (only another 46gm of carbs)- not that i ever did that :smirk:
Not to mention what an array of interesting ingredients! :grinning:
I don’t even feel too bad- that one ended up in the garbage can. :roll_eyes:

Doesn’t help that I have about 100 of his friends still hanging out in my cellar…

I was eating at least one of these every day when I cut carbs cold turkey. Met RX protein bar.

I don’t remember the brand but there was an apple pie flavored protein bar. Good golly was that good.

Former archenemies, now defeated and exiled from my land:

Easy to eat one of these after a rough day (or even a good day)

americone

Used to sneak these in all the time, ashamed to say I’d eat too many to count and usually late at night

choc

Served from a food truck near my office, and I’m British, so that made it easy to justify as well

Would eat a large one of these (or larger) with sides (!) in one sitting pretty often

Good riddance!

Yeah- i remember those! :grinning:

Hmm… I don’t know… That pizza looks pretty good. :rage: :confused:

Too many to mention! But here are a couple of repeat offenders:

Pizza is still good to me. I have some a few timesa year, maybe a handful.

@newtoketonot

I get that smug feeling when people say they want rice, or mashed potatoes. Or fruit.

@ctviggen

Yup, a handful of pizza!

Back in the day, I could eat something like this without sharing a single crumb with others. The only food I really miss is sourdough bread.

I thought this looked like a chocolate cake topped with pretzels drizzled with a caramel sauce. Humm, just a protein bar.

Any

And all

Forms of

Potato :potato:

(squirrel-kissing paper tamer) #17

Yeah, those suckers are the best protein bar I’ve ever had, probably because they taste like a cake topped with pretzels and drizzled in caramel sauce!

You do not know what you ask…

Btw, all of these I gave up LONG before keto.

When I was in high school (over 20 years ago), this was my lunch literally every day minus the first day of freshman year. 2 of these from the snack machine each day.

Then, moving on from high school, I could binge eat any and all of these things

Plus insert any item from the candy, ice cream or bakery aisle here. Was it any wonder I was severely hypoglycemic? I had destroyed my body.

I dont have a picture… But the 3 piece chicken tenders meal at mc donalds and 2 ranch cups. Pork rinds just dont taste the same as breading. Lol.
