I had a trip to my GP yesterday for advice on a skin problem. The assistant had asked me to step on the scales and I had my blood pressure recorded.
GP enters room, saying what a great job I had done and that he was super impressed with my weight loss, and that my BP was also down.
He was super encouraging when I said I was going low carb/keto earleir this year.
I often see reports from others on this forum who have difficulty with their GPs and lack of support and understanding. I guess I found gold when I found keto, and struck lucky again with my GP.

Many more docs are finding out about keto. Some are still skeptical but can’t argue with the results, so at a minimum - don’t interefere. Most docs need to hear from other docs before they are eventually convinced. But I know its happening. I work in health care and hear the chatter - and its getting more and more positive!

I have recently found out that one of the GP’s at my surgery low carbs and another intermittent fasts… yet I can bet that the info they give out for Type 2’s will still be based on the “Eatwell Guide”. I’m going to check at my next review in a couple of weeks… Trying to get them to change but its going to be an uphill struggle.
