Planned Carb Day...?

I’m 30 days into keto, 14lbs down and I feel great.

I have a planned high carb day in 3 weeks… I know I shouldn’t. But it’s my daughter’s birthday and I’m going to eat some pizza and cake with her.

What are people’s experiences after a cheat day like this? Any tips?

Expect to be pretty bloated and sleepy. You may crave carbs for a day or two after. Make sure you drink water on your high carb day. You’ll probably get dehydrated a bit.

First, this is a lifestyle, so LIVE. The problem isn’t cake at the party, it’s the cake every day.

Second, what @happygorilla said. You might feel like shit, but this too shall pass.

Hi! I had one experience with a cheat meal while on keto that was pretty bad. I went to brunch with family after being keto for 2 months, and I ate a stack of 3 pancakes with syrup and bottomless mimosas. I had the stomach ache of my life when I got home. I just laid on the couch all afternoon feeling sluggish and slightly nauseous.

Any other time I’ve cheated I ate smaller portions than my mishap above and was able to go about my day and bounce right back.

My advice would be to take it slow, drink lots of water, and enjoy the memories :hugs:

Maybe Dont eat the crust. Eat less frosting like a piece from the middle.

This is good tip. Either scrape toppings and eat separately or order thin-crust and you’ll save a lot of carbs that way.
Plan on fasting or OMAD the next day and you’ll get back in the swing of things more quickly

sounds like you are Planning To Fail, to me. Why not just skip the carbs, what do you have to lose? What do you have to gain? A few moments of mouth pleasure?

Like another person already mentioned this is a lifestyle so you need to live! Nothing is wrong with having a high carb moment every now and then. Like others have already said you may feel bloated or sleepy maybe even a little stomach ache but have no fear get right back on keto and it will pass. Enjoy life and everything it has to offer :grin:
