I’m a bit a a big time foodie… and I have had a run on making Pickled Sausage & Eggs. They are my go to quick snack and really do the trick, especially if you have a hunk of Brie with it as well ! Very filling and easily gets me through the 20:4 days. Many recipes available on line and easily adaptable to any particular preferences…garlic, hot peppers, onions… Its all an easy meal on the go!

I have a jar of eggs pickling in the fridge as we speak. Can’t wait to try them.

What’s your favorite recipe for this?

I LOVE PICKLED EGGS!

Can you please share your RECIPE???

I just put mine in a jar of store pickle juice, after I have eaten all the pickles. Bubbies is my fave.

How long does it take for the egg to absorb a good flavor? And how long do you suppose they will stay fresh? Best guess in your experience?

Brenda,
I usually leave them for 2-3 days before eating. Seems long enough.

Chef hubby thinks they could last as long as a year in the juice. Judging from the HUGE jars of pickled eggs I have seen in pubs in the UK, I wouldn’t be surprised. And these weren’t refrigerated, like mine!

I have reused the juice for up to a month with no issues.

I MADE PICKLED EGGS LAST NIGHT!!! Joy @SondraRose

(Warren ) #12

I put a batch in the fridge last night as well. I’ll post a pic.

I basically free formed the recipe… starting with regular pickling
spice. I added garlic cloves, some jalapeno peppers and onions. I also put
in 2 inch pieces of a good garlic sausage… . It’ll be a Protein overload
im sure… but small amounts very filling I find. Will last for a couple
weeks.
