Any one listen to the latest Peter Attia podcast?

Interesting discussion about the workings of Diabetes, and insulin. At the end there’s a reference to glucose being the cause of micro vascular damage, and recent research pointing to insulin causing macro vascular damage. Reminds me of something Richard mentioned on one of the podcasts, about in tests on animals with insulin, there was massive vascular damage in the veins where the insulin was injected, but not elsewhere in the body.

Peter Attia speculates that controlling your glucose variation, hence reducing your insulin, is likely to be good for you vascular health.

Another good indicator for the efficacy of the Ketonic diet I think.

Makes sense :ok_hand:

How do they know it’s sugar and not PUFAs or PUFAs with sugar?

(John Cassidy) #4

That wasn’t clear to me. From what I only ‘heard’ glucose. Could be they didn’t mention PUFAs, or I they did and I didn’t pick up on it.

Glad to see Attia back in the scene.
