OT: Laid off yesterday

#1

I got laid off from my job yesterday. My NSV is that I had no urges to eat anything non-keto afterwards. I guess it’s time to relisten to the Keto on a Budget show.

(I like to post memes!) #2

That’s a bummer :slight_frown: Do you have some new opportunities to pursue? When I was job hunting it was a recruiter that eventually found me a job that I love. Good luck to you!!

My old company has a pretty decent severance package and also provide help with placement. It’s a bad time to be in oil and gas though, so I may see what else I can figure out to do now. I was upset yesterday, but I’m also feeling like maybe it was time for a change.

Sorry to hear about your job but I hope this is an opportunity for you! I see you’re in Houston. Our oil patch in Canada (Alberta) isn’t doing well either. Lots of layoffs. I’m glad to see your company helps with placement. Best of luck to you!

sorry to hear that. I hope one door closing means a more interesting one opening.

#6

:sleepy: sorry about your layoff…hopefully opens a world of new opportunities for you.

That sucks. Wishing you the best luck with future job prospects.

Not nice, but you managed to keep your job longer than most people in that depressed sector so you must have been doing some things very well.

Thankfully you have a decent payout, so take a couple of weeks to recharge and refocus then use you Keto super powers.

Keep Calm and Keto On mate.

Bummer on the layoff for the new year :frowning: But kudos on not eating your feelings <3

(No I'm not mad - that's just my face) #10

Crap. But good for you keeping yourself healthy on keto.

(ketohealthclub) #11

So sorry. I’ve been there and it sucks. This is a good time to stick to keto, and it’s doable on a budget. When I lost my job I got sick from the stress (not good without health insurance). Wish I’d known about keto. I still do keto on a budget- c’est la vie! We’re pulling for you.

Make this a fun milestone with your keto family at your back. I found that going back to basics is both a brain cleanse and time to clean out the too full freezer.

(suzanna) #13

How awesome that you didn’t cope with the stress by eating carbs.

(Liv Stefek) #14

Sorry to hear that you have been laid off. Great news that you didn’t have any of those old carb filled urges kicking in as a result. I hope that something new and exciting is waiting for you.

(Marc) #16

Sorry to hear about that. Like Richard said, I hope something better comes your way.

#17

Hang tough buddy…the right job is out there waiting!

I’ve been there…it sucks. Stay Positive.

I found LinkedIn to be a great place to network and find jobs. I even recommend paying for the premium account. It will give you lots of feedback and you can cancel at anytime(confirm they have not changed this of course).

Everything happens for a reason.
