Looking for support from other Keto people in Orlando, Florida .Today is day 21 for me, I am 51, 5’4" and looking to get healthier by shedding unwanted lbs - total goal in 40 and I’m down 9. Looking forward to hearing from new keto friends for chat , support, ideas and maybe even a walk in some of our lovely parks.

I live in Davenport! We should totally get together!!! I started on Jan 1st, and I’m down about 12. I’m 41, 5’0 and looking to lose about 80 total.

Thanks Camilie, Have you been able to stay in ketosis the whole time? I am on day 2 again as I fell of the wagon due to a school field trip and poor planning.

I’m making better choices.

I ditched it for the superbowl, but that’s the only real cheat day I’ve had. I managed to survive the school field trip by bringing along a container of olives and chopped up bites of string cheese (full fat mozzarella, yum) in olive oil. I’ve probably had a few days where I ate too much broccoli and such though. I’m getting a blood ketone meter soon to see where I really am in all of this. My husband made it through the 1st week with me, fell off the wagon, and is now finally getting back on, he wants to gear up for a 30 day fast. (can we say ambitious? :slight_smile:)

Good planning with the field trip.
Yes absolutely ambitious - 30 days - wow ! . My hubby just started with me -day 3 for both now . When I fell off the wagon I really didn’t enjoy the “bad food” except for the slice of key lime pie.

I’ve been watching SO many YouTube info on ketosis for motivation. I really like Dr Berg , he explains things so well. Have you ever seen him? My long term goal is to be healthy but also to look fabulous for my oldest son’s wedding in November and the 2nd son’s wedding the following March .

Sounds like some good plans to me! I’m working off my baby weight. And avoiding diabetes, and all the other good stuff. I finally got a blood ketone meter this week, and it was nice to see if i was actually in ketosis, instead of just assuming I was in ketosis. I’m going on a cruise in June, so any weight I lose between now and then will be awesome.
I have seen a couple of Dr. Bergs videos. He’s filled in a few gaps the 2 keto dudes haven’t,. I also read the obesity code, and am working on the big fat surprise and Jimmy Moore’s book, whose name has escaped me. Everything I listen to, watch or do helps me keep on track!

Hi Camille - how ya doing? Is the blood ketone meter helpful ? Can you give me info about it? I’ve still been using the strips - went off keto and ate somewhat bad sat & sun ( easter brunch ) but didn’t really love it . I’m pretty sure it will take me at least 2weeks to get back to ketosis but I’m not mad at my self - these were my numbers

I weighed myself this morning- oops 169lbs - I believe I can do it .

I see so many stories on line that help me think it’s possible - I can’t give up.

I have the keto mojo, which was 60$ on Amazon. Test strips are about a dollar each, so not great, but not horrible either. Discovered my ketones were in about the 3 range, which was higher than I was expecting. My stress levels were super high this last week and I really wanted to cheat, but wasn’t able to get out and do so which probably saved my bacon. Lol. It’s really interesting to see how individual results are, depending on circumstances, and our crazy, individual bodies. The more I learn about this the more I can’t really see myself going back to the standard diet. It just doesn’t make sense.
