organic stevia extract powder?

(Lisa) #1

Hello girls and boys,
I recently bought organic stevia powder, I’m curious and I want to know more about it, I just do not need a guide … has anyone used it already and if so where do you get it?

(Rebecca ) #2

Welcome, I’m sorry. I can’t help. I don’t use powdered stevia. I do use a few Sweetleaf drops in my coffee, but that’s it. What prompted you to purchase it?

(Allie) #3

I’ve used it but didn’t rate it at all. There’s a strange after taste and it doesn’t dissolve into anything. The liquid extract is much better I think.

What will you be using it for?

(Robin) #4

Same and same. I use the drops, the power didn’t taste right.

Ditto - I use the sweetleaf drops in my coffee. Never tried the powered stevia. I keep some Truvia packets in my purse for when I have coffee away from home and I think it is a combo of stevia and erithritol. It’s ok - prefer the drops thought.

Another vote for stevia liquid extracts. The extract powder is very potent and easy to over dose resulting in a unpleasant after taste. It works best in combination with other sweetners such as erythritol or allulose where one might mix a cup of the other with perhaps 1/4 teaspoon of stevia extract.

Yup. Trader Joe’s organic stevia drops are aces.

Same and ditto

I’ve used “Pyure” brand pure organic liquid stevia extract (no additives besides alcohol) and it’s about half the price as Trader Joe’s here in the US.

For those rare occasions when I make (largely for my wife) heavy cream-whipped ice cream or some dark chocolate treat.

BTW, welcome @LisaJohnson to the forum.
