Went to my doctor yesterday, He was amazed at my weight loss. He checked my blood pressure a second time after the nurse had checked it. I’m no longer on blood pressure medication. My LDL is a little high. My guess is that it is the good big fluffy LDL anyway. I really don’t believe the cholesterol myth anyway. I got a prescription for allergies since it is springtime. So that is all the medications I’m taking. Its funny, the nurse says my LDL levels are a little high and recommended I not eat fatty foods etc. The doctor took me off seeing him every 6 months to a year. So a really good health check up. I did tell him about the book Cholesterol Myth. And he wanted to know more about the low carb high fat diet. The evidence was sitting in front of him but I don’t know if he could believe it or not. Almost forgot to mention, I noticed that my A1C wasn’t on there. I asked about that since a year ago he was prescribing metformin for diabetes. He looked at my blood glucose and asked if I was fasting when I had my blood work, I said yes, then he just said you don’t have anything to worry about there. Fasting glucose was 91. Just wondering now, what would my fasting glucose be if I were completely no longer insulin resistance?
One year after Diabetes diagnosis
Even in the absence of insulin resistance, you can still have higher blood glucose readings. I wouldn’t worry about a 91.
The problem is that confounders like physical stress, emotional stress, and stressors like illness can raise blood glucose levels.
i think do pretty good on the food front but all the other factors keep my blood sugar higher than i’d like so fasting is my next big approach…that and going back on metformin for a time…I’m just another walking science experiment.
I think it is just a matter of time for me. I’ve got here through diet and some intermittent fasting. My guess is a year out from now should be awesome. Right now, I’m only 9 months out from starting keto so even where I am now seems like a miracle. Especially since the doctors say diabetes cannot be reversed.
