@lfod14 @MiKetoAF Thanks guys! I’ll reduce my protein intake then

I just found somehow tough to add fat without too much protein. Except coconut oil in my coffee and olive oil in my veggies… I used to add fat throught cheese, but this adds protein as well.
Any other ideas?

Butter.

I know you’re a little concerned about this protein ratio but you may be off on your math. At 80g you are above 1g/kg of LBM since you have about 72kg. If you were aiming for .8g you’d be at 58g of protein.
@richard has done this ad infinitum (in posts and a podcast) and agrees we need less that we think but 0.8g/kg is a very safe number.

Note: I was sedentary, eating 3,000 calories a day, and lost 40 pounds in two weeks when I went ZC Keto. I went from 245 pounds to 205 in 14 days. So indeed, CICO is way overrated. Fiction in fact.

We only need enough protein to maintain for repairs. If you have lost a lot of weight, and have excess skin sagging, then you would want to consider at some point to lowering protein intake so that the excess baggage will get broken down seeing as it’s not needed any longer. I’ve already noticed my spare tire shrinking from my waist. The muffin top no longer covers my belt, it’s amazing! I always thought that excess skin like this required surgery to remedy. Evidently not!:cowboy_hat_face:

From what I understand (based on what I have read, so subject to further input, for sure), if someone gets their energy input/output “just right” for them, personally, while being fat adapted, then they won’t have high levels of ketones in their urine. Ketones in the urine are excess ketones that the body didn’t need, and so they are being released with the rest of the waste material during urination. It is possible to be fat adapted, but to actually be using most of the ketones you are producing for energy, meaning that there wouldn’t be much excess being removed in urine. This could make testing with the strips rather uneventful, even though someone is doing just fine. Anyone with more in depth science knowledge please feel free to confirm or correct this notion, just what I have read so far while researching.
