On my maiden voyage in keto!

Hello everyone!
Newbie here, started yesterday and so glad to read everyone’s success stories! I’ve tried every diet under the sun, became frustrated, angry and depressed, and I so hope keto is the solution.
What I like about it is that I can eat the foods I naturally yearn for, i.e fatty foods. I’ve never been too attracted by sugar and sweets, but I love pasta, rice and good bread. I hadn’t heard of keto, perhaps because it’s much less popular in Europe, and found out about it very recently. And finally, I was reading something that made sense! One thing that I’ve suspected for a long time was that the calorie deficit theory was bs, and that there had to be something else, and keto was the answer I’d been looking for.
So yesterday I began my new, stress-free, calorie.-angst free life…and I hope it will work as well as it did for most of you!
One thing I’ve been wondering is whether skipping meals is recommended or not? Advice is welcome! Thank you!

Skipping meals is recommended if you are ready for it. It’s much easier to skip (and, in fact, you sometimes just don’t want to eat) once you are fat adapted. After a while, you may find that you don’t eat for 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, etc., hours–and feel just FINE! If you are fat-adapted, an extended fast is quite easy. I do at two five-day fasts every month, in fact. Sometimes, I also skip a meal or two or even do a 24- or 48-hour fast in addition in the month. It’s all just how you feel.

Oh great, thanks! I was wondering because after my first day of almost no carbs but plenty of fat, I still felt sated this morning…until past lunchtime, actually. So thanks, it means I can just eat when I feel hungry again.

Don’t sweat it! I am glad you are already feeling sated. Today I couldn’t get through half my salad. I think my heavy-whip coffee filled me up. The “rules” for keto are really easy:

(1) Limit your carbs to be in ketosis
(2) Eat protein enough to maintain your lean body mass
(3) Eat a lot of fat until you are full
