I have been doing Alternate Day fasting for the whole month of August, and today is a 24 hour fast. This morning, I had my normal coffee with cream, and as is my norm, I made a big (30 oz insulated cup) of bulletproof coffee. I use @ 1 tbsp MCT oil, butter and HWC. About halfway through the coffee, I started feeling shaky, like my blood glucose was low. I tested my glucose and ketones. BG 122, ketones 0.6. About 2 hour later, I retested. BG 111, ketones 0.9. Another 2 hours I retested. BG 96, ketones 1.6. I tested again just before my evening meal, BG 93, ketones 1.7. The shaky feeling went away after about 10 minutes, I drank some Keto-ade and felt better…
I just found those results interesting, and I’m not sure I understand why the glucose stayed “high” pretty much all day. Anyone ever experience something like this, or have an opinion? I’m all ears!

Any chance you have an infection/coming down with a cold? I’ve noticed my BG is always high when I am starting to get sick.

How long have you been doing keto? What is your BG normally when fasting? It’s a little weird that you got the shakes with a BG of 122. I could see you getting the shakes if it was in the 60s.

I’ve been doing keto since about mid May. I started testing my BG and ketones this month. Random glucose ranges in the 80’s and low 90’s. I do get in to the 100’s after I eat.
I would expect the shakes whenI got in to the 60’s, which was why I was surprised at the 122 result… not panicked, just surprised.
