I hate to be gross, but I’ve notice since going keto, I’ll occasionally have oily stools. The color of the stool is a little paler, and there’s an oily look on top of the water. Does anybody else have this?
Oily stool?
I can’t believe I’m telling everyone this, but I guess if I’m going to TMI, this is the place to do it. I have the pallor in stools sometimes, but not the oiliness. Maybe others can chime in on whether the oiliness can be normal. Do you have any other conditions that might prevent/reduce fat absorption from your GI tract, like liver or gallbladder issues, or small intestinal disease of any sort?
Hmm… it just sounds like unabsorbed fats to me. I just don’t know whether it can be normal or if it’s any cause for checking with your doctor to be sure there’s no undiagnosed low-grade issues going on. I’m sure others will be along to help.
Addendum: Found this for ya. If it were me, I’d probably check with my doctor just to get basic stuff ruled out. I think a lot of it can be done with just blood tests.

Yep, peanuts are my kryptonite. Now that you mention it, I think I’ve read about nuts causing this kind of thing (including peanuts which are legumes).
yes they do and it is partly because they are hard to digest so you pass some on by, if not feeling bad and losing weight then do not worry about it.
I’m not losing any weight…which is kind of depressing. I’ve been doing keto and fasting 3 days a week since October. I lost an initial 40 pounds, and then…nothing. Stuck. That said, I feel so much better, and I finally know what satiety feels like.
I’m thinking about going to OMAD all seven days and seeing if it changes anything.
make sure you are not over eating fat, like peanuts. once you are fat adapted you need to back off on fat so you feed on your bodies waist fridge. Also make sure your peanuts are not roasted in veg oil. Peanuts can be a sneaky carb and spike insulin so if going to eat them make them part of the meal so you are not getting a second insulin spike when snacking. No snacking is best plan.
Keto Newbie here…Alley, thanks for all your information. Gave me instant solutions/realizations…
Perfect…Yes and i know its the nuts for me…ate more than usual yesterday and thats why i saw the greasy poop today…
