Oh my days, feel rough!

I’m loving my new way of eating, really starting to get the hang of it as a newbie, I cannot believe how clear my head is, my headaches have stopped completely, I was taking so many pain killers it would upset my tummy. My thought process hasn’t been this good for easily 2years. I’ve been following the diet since the start of the year and the last alcoholic beverage I had was new year, last night I bought I’d have a cheeky vino with dinner (garlic chicken) I had 1 glass and I was floored! I had to go to bed at 10pm and now I’m up with a huge hangover and garlic breath. I feel like I’ve done 7hours round town and finished with a kebab! (A British standard Friday night) so unwell and so not worth it.

I am glad that you are enjoying your new Keto walk, Amanda that is awesome!

In time, after you are fat adapted, I think the occasional glass of wine won’t do that to you. At least, from personal experience, I am fine drinking a few drinks once in a while.

The only times I have since doing Keto have been when we go out to a concert night (one coming Feb 8th) and on Christmas Day and on New Year’s Eve. It is not something that I do often, and I only have a few drinks each time, (get a nice little buzz but not drunk) and I haven’t had any trouble with hang overs, etc.

Thanks Susan,
It’s put me off for now, that’s for sure

I love to hear this. When you take away the mystery, keto is very easy. I had never been on a “diet” before where I could eat so much and be so happy with the food. Like others have said, I came for the diet and stayed for the benefits.

Just eat and live every day happily. By summer, you will be buying new stuff to wear.

:hugs:

I made the same mistake having wine at Christmas only one month into keto.
