Of which sugar?

I’m really new to this now 9 days in I think and I’m confused about the labels on things.

Does the part on the carbohydrate part that says “of which sugars” have any baring?

Because I’ve been unsure I’ve just avoided food that’s I can’t fit in to my counts but wouldn’t mind having a broader diet

I would go by Total Carbs minus Fiber. (and/or minus sugar alcohols if there are any)
I would also try to start skipping packaged foods altogether. But I know that is a process, so take all the baby steps you need for your journey

The short answer is NO - all carbs are sugar in the end.

As Claudia said - if in the US: total carbs - fiber, if in Europe/Aus, then just total carbs since they already net out the fiber on the label.

 suspected that but never knew for sure since the math often didn’t add up… thanks for that valuable info
