New month, new topic.
I’m just holding the line lately. I think I would like to drop a few lbs. again. So will up my fasting game this month.
How is everyone else doing?

Will finish up on a 72-hr fast tomorrow at lunch. Wasn’t a particularly hard fast this time (not always the case).
About 53 hours in right now and numbers are:
Glucose: 100
Ketones: 2.5
GKI: 2.5
Needed this fast for a “reset” to eliminate the carb-creep sneaking up on me.
Thankfully I live on a remote, rural piece of land and we don’t get any trick or treaters, so won’t have to deal with leftover candy laying around after tomorrow night.
Had to look up GKI
This morning my first BG reading was 94. My blood ketones were 1.0
So if I did the math right GKI is 5.2
Is that high, low, or normal ?
Edit : looked into it further. AI says I’m in a good range
5.2 is great for a normal ketone diet. I only check my blood glucose and ketones when I am fasting because I enjoy seeing the numbers.
Many here will say the ketone pee sticks stop working for them after a few months, but that doesn’t apply to everybody. After nearly 8 years of keto they still work for me and track my ketone meter. So… I use them occassionally since they are much cheaper than ketone test strips, but it doesn’t give me any data numbers - just a… yes you are on track or oops - too many carbs (or wine LOL).
Made it through another fast and will be breaking it at lunch today for 72 hours. Not hungry but 72 hours is enough for me.
Glucose: 82
Ketones: 2.2
GKI: 2.0
Will probably do another fast the week before Thanksgiving, just because. I will be back from a business trip (7 days, 12-hr shifts but not nights this tiime - yay).
Driving to Houston to spend it with my sons and grandsons and DIL is cooking so will be easy for me. No taste-testing, no leftovers.
