Nutritionist in media saying...dont eat fatty bacon

(Antony Collins) #1

Just a shame that the messaging is very confused by this nutritionist…this implies that you cant have fatty bacon with or without carbohydrates. Why not say Eggs, Bacon and a side of Avocado is a healthy option if sticking to a low carbohydrate diet…

Eggs are regularly mentioned when discussing the best breakfast options, thanks to their high protein and nutrient contents.

On the other hand when they are served with multiple pieces of fatty bacon — or on a large white wrap or bread roll — this quick breakfast on the go becomes high in saturated fat, salt and processed carbohydrates … some of the worst nutrient mixes.

The best option? Poached eggs with wholegrain toast and if you must add the bacon, ask for just one slice of the leanest piece on special occasions.

She’s kind’a confused. How about a four egg omelette stuffed with bacon?

Any article that starts 'WE KNOW it’s important to eat breakfast to kickstart your metabolism" is bulls**t so I gave up there…

(Kaiden) #4

What other methods are there to kickstart morning metabolism? Cold shower? Wim Hof breathing? Jumping on a trampoline? Barbells? Thermic effect of food seems to be a foolish way to lose weight.

best way is the sun rise

If you have to wake up before dawn, would a tool like the Human Charger help?

HA - I just warmed up some BBQ burgers in bacon fat and dumped in bacon crumbles and cheddar and let that get all warm and melty. I’m gonna die…

Just get up out of bed… your metabolism will have started up already… look up the “dawn phenomenon”.

You lost me at “Nutritionist in media.”

Seems like a lot of bad faith in the education and trade groups of nutritionists, even if many of the practitioners are acting in good faith.

Die from deliciousness, maybe. That sounds awesome!

@Antony_Collins I agree with @MarkGossage. From your title “Nutritionist in media saying…don’t eat fatty bacon”

All I could think was is there any other kind :sunglasses:?
