Not hungry Questions

#1

Hey All,

I am 2 days away from finishing week 3 of keto adventure and today had something new occur …

Typically I will eat around 11am or 12pm and then will eat my second time of day around 5/6pm. Ever day I can recall I looked forward to eating SO much at 5/6pm.

Today I cooked like normal at 5/6pm but…I wasn’t hungry. I just cannot eat. Not interested. Is automatic fasting just a thing that starts to occur? Ive had maybe 600 calories today 75%fat/20%protein/5%carb.

Its now 9:30pm and still just zero interest in food. Yay?

Is this a yay? lol Just wanted to double check that this is a feeling I should be looking forward to having!

Thanks all

The principle is eating fat to satiety, so, if you’re not hungry, you shouldn’t eat. However, I would not recommend you have too many days of low calorie eating, this will lead to a reducing metabolism.

But a key principle of keto is to have fewer eating occasions, so skipping meals here and there because you are not hungry is definitely a yay. But not every day, as it could mean you are undereating every day. If it gets like that, it would be better to fast for a day than to eat low calorie consistently day after day.

This is a yay! Congratulations! I am about 7 or 8 weeks in and had my first “Wait, I forgot to eat lunch today,” about three or four weeks in, too.

This is a yay :+1:t2::grinning: Eat when your hungry, the rest of the time, you can assume your body is happy with the energy from your fat-stores

I would say there are degrees of no hunger and no appetite.

It can get to very undesired degree. So be careful.

I think it’s probably something that you will continue to feel. I’ve been doing Keto for 9 months and I’ve noticed an overall decrease in my appetite, and I go days where it seems I barely eat anything and other days when I feel hungry. I exercise at least 5 hours a week andI just trust my body to let me know when it needs something. I think the meals I eat are so high fat it probably just takes awhile for me to digest it, plus I start my mornings with butter in coffee and that curbs my appetite for sure. For the record tho, I’m on keto for epilepsy and I’ve never lost weight on keto maybe because I already have a very low BMI?? I don’t know if people count their calories or what when they are on keto to loose weight,I just eat as much or little as I feel.

I find if I’m eating as much as I want I’m less likely to CHEAT!
