it had some fat in it. it wasn’t that lean
Not giving up just feeling fed up
Today I felt more satisfied. I was hungry for a period but I drank more water
I did the 1 kg per body weight which is 83g but the calculator that I used spat out 73g
Well, just try and up your fat content daily. You should not be feeling hungry at all.
You’ll start feeling more comfortable as the confusion lessens, you start feeling more happy with your food and your macros/ numbers and you’re getting support for your questions.
Doesn’t matter. It’s just a rough guide.
The macro for your fat intake is weirder. I’m not good at calculating them, so you’ll need someone else’s help here.
But fat should be WELL over 100g, I think.
Get someone here to calculate them for you.
Your protein sounds roughly right.
Carbs under 20 g
Your fat macro needs to go up above 100g - maybe 140 g? (I’m terrible at calculating! Others here will help you!)
Personally I would stay away from root veg like carrots until a bit later in the process, and even then in small amounts. Stick to veg that grows above the ground.
Also I’m not convinced about the keto or Atkins bars. They 'll have something in that can cause stalls.
I agree with the others that you need more fat. Keep carbs below 20g net and then add fat to everything! A nice cream sauce with your ribeye for example.
The recipe section here and the ‘what did you keto today?’ Thread are great for recipes and ideas.
Good luck and welcome to a very supportive and helpful board.

I am thinking 1800. Or more. At the moment, you are undereating, you need more.
I have left that other group. I feel so much better thanks you all from the bottom of my heart. My BGL levels are right down. To the point where I think I have to come off the last medication because it is going on the low side. I feel so much better for changing my way of eating.
Was this homemade, or shop bought? Real food is always best if possible.
Definitely more fats needed or your body won’t learn to use it as the primary fuel source. Add butter to veggies, use the fattiest meats (no lean mince).
In such early stages you really need only focus on keeping carbs below 20g and eating enough fats to stop you being hungry. Always eat to your appetite, calorie restriction maybe has its place in some areas (I’ve not found one yet but… ) but certainly not in the early stages of keto
Very important to understand that this is NOT a low calorie diet. If anything it is a high calorie diet. You will be repairing your body and your metabolism by eating fat. Your body needs calories to be able to do that. So you need to eat.
You’ll be able to sneak in some low-carb fruit (eg berries) later on…
And after a couple of months, you can also have an occasional bit of fruit, if you still miss it and if you make sure you compensate for it. It’s not ideal, but we all miss some things.
Just try and not do this in the first weeks/ months as it will complicate matters and make it harder for you initially.
Your body needs help/ time to adapt for now, and fruit will make things harder.
Look at occasional fruit as a long term thing, to help motivate you and try and focus on low-carb fruits like berries.
Don’t worry about calories at all right now. Eat fat to satiety. Make sure your meals are large enough and contain enough fat to get you to your next meal without feeling hungry.
Also, what is “bio cheese”?
