Non-Scale Victory. Beyond 2X 😂 has

When i started at my retirement job my first uniform was a 4X mainly due to the fact that my arms were 22 inches BUT also because I was 307lbs and a powerlifter. Not long after I started working there I got sick again, couldn’t work out and as usual I gained a bunch of weight up to somewhere around 340lbs and up to a 5X shirt.

As most of you know I began my Keto journey on October 16, 2017 and after 1 1/2 months I went from 340 down to around 320 but more importantly I went from an HBA1C of somewhere between 8-10 (paperwork snafu at the VA one says one and one says the other) down to 6.4 and since the doc thought that my bloodwork was in error he had me take the tests again and my HBA1C went down to 5.3 and since I’ve dropped down to between 260-270 lbs WITHOUT being able to workout due to some health complications (all but two of the 8 months I’ve been keto I couldn’t powerlift).

I had been on my boss to get me a 2X uniform since the 4X was way too big and finally he got a couple for me and not only do they fit BUT they are slightly bigger than I thought they would be.

I really think that I can wear a 1X like I used to back in my bodybuilding/powerlifting day’s so this was a special NSV AND I’m not even to my goal weight of 240 lbs yet :joy:.

The cool thing is that my true arm size is still right around 20 inches so the nonsense that you lose muscle on Keto is ridiculous and being a former bodybuilder I can tell by looking that my lean mass has not only not changed even though I’ve not been able to lift for almost 4 months but I’ve actually gained some lean mass in my legs even though I haven’t been able to work them much due to a hernia.

Awesome NSV!!! And you should’ve seen the giggling that my wife was doing because just before I tried this shirt on I stated that it would be a little tight because I hadn’t lost enough yet for a 2X yet and my face showed that I was tripping when it fit and then some :joy:!

What a gift, congratulations! :+1:

Your progress has been amazing. It’s fascinating that you actually added muscle, even without lifting. That is very good news, since my motto is “no pain . . . no pain.”

I think WWF’s Superstar Billy Graham used to brag how his arms were 21 inches. Ron, you’re a beast!

Congrats and good luck on your journey.
