Hey I decided to join this chat after crying for 30 mins straight. I’ve been ketoing like eating 35-50g carbs average for 3 weeks counting all my macros and calories 1200 calories and never more. I’ve seen literally no result and my graduation is in October where I want to lose 25 kg for, anyone know if I’ll lose 25 kg in 115 days if I’m currently 120kg ? I know I’m the first few weeks the weight is suppose to fly off but I’ve seen nothing
No result
Total or net? Especially getting started, it’s important to keep your net carbs at 20g or below. Focus on the basics:
- 20 net grams of carbs
- moderate protein scaled to lean body mass
- fat to satiety
Don’t count calories. If you’re hungry, eat; and eat FAT. Restricting calories will slow your metabolism and make it more difficult to lose.
Thanks so much for answering net carbs, should I not follow the 100g protein 100g fat I got from some keto calculator? Do you think mct oil will help ?
Thanks
You might even try lower than 20 g. No sweeteners. high fat. Moderate to low protein.

Sorry posted incorrectly
I’ll try 20 and lowering but it’s hard because so many veggies add up to the carb count
Those are not correct numbers. Use this macro calculator and set it in maintain mode when you enter your stats.
Thanks so much basically said “ Based on your inputs, we suggest you eat: 1741 calories. From those, 133g fats, 20g net carbs, and 117g protein“ 1741 calories seems like a treat after eating 1000/1200 for three weeks
Looks better. Keep carbs under 20g. I might suggest trying to stay under that in protein (although that and even higher won’t hurt), And the rest fat. After adaption you have room to adjust thing but staying on course during transition will get you adapted easier.
I just tried using the calculator and every time I hit “calculate” it takes me back to the top of the page. All the blanks are filled in… is it not working right now? Maybe I’ll shut down and re-open the site.

Hey @Syeda - 25 Kg in 4 months is pretty ambitious, especially since nothing’s moving yet.
You’re getting lots of good advice here - I hate to suggest anything different. I’ll tell you how I lost 25 kg in 6 months and you can take it under consideration in case the other stuff doesn’t work:
- 0 carbs to get things moving, then add greens and macademia nuts back in after a week
- 0 artificial sweeteners
- 0 snacking
- 0 lean meat
- 0 eating beyond satiety
- 0 meals without added fat
- 0 intense exercise that requires any recovery
- 8 glasses of water per day
- 8 hours of sleep per day
- 30 minutes of walking per day
Of course, there are some carbs in eggs, bacon, ghee, cream, etc., but I eliminated as many carbs as I could and still eat. This is pretty radical, but my attitude is no sense in using a slingshot when an A-bomb will do. Plus, it’s pretty easy to pull off because you will greatly lower your cravings.
I had the same problem. Maybe it is browser related. I tried it on Chrome, did you? Maybe try it on IE or Safari?
Yeah, 1000-1200 calories is starvation levels. You’re going to damage your metabolism that way and do more harm than good.
Yup, Chrome. Will try another. Thanks!

Got results from Internet Explorer: equal parts fat and protein:
Great! I am an accountant and the website for one of the banks we use at work doesnt work in Chrome.
Glad you got it working. You must be more active with the higher protein suggestion. Wish I were, looking forward to them days!
I don’t think I’m going to go that high on protein, though. I find when I have too much protein I am hungry shortly afterwards, which probably means it’s causing a spike and crash. Calculators are only for general guidelines, right?

At best. At worst, they really fuck people up. A free calculator that you plug a few figures into online CAN’T possible take into account your individual needs or metabolism. Forget the fact that even “keto” calculators tend to still focus on calories, which suggests the programmers really don’t understand keto… okay, enough soapbox for now.
Right.
Protein will cause an insulin response but it isn’t at spike levels and happens slower (approx over a 6 hr period). I’m of the same mindset though that too high on protein slows down things so I prefer the lower spectrum.
