Hey everybody,

I recently started the keto diet (2-1-2019) I went from 91,5 kg(202lbs) to 87 kg(191lbs) and I am 178 cm (5.84 feet)
However I recently started fasting too, It caused me to have absolutely no hunger at all.
I am also looking for a reliable way to test if I am in ketose, are Ketose strips good?
Also I am struggling to eat all the food I prepared it is usually less then 1000 kcal a day and I am fasting 23 hours a day. Is it a problem that I eat only 1000 kcal do you guys have some tips to enlarge my fat intake because I think that it isn’t high enough.

thank you guys in advance

kristian

I wouldn’t recommend fasting until you’re fat adapted, because your body isn’t yet efficient with dipping into its stored fat. In the mean time I would just continue listening to your body. If that means 1000 calories one day and 1800 the next, do what it wants. As long as you’re not intentionally restricting calories, I wouldn’t worry about it yet. As far as your fat intake, it’s there to help you feel full. When you eat you should be focusing on getting your protein in, first and foremost, then using fat as a leverage to keep you full.

I typed this for someone else earlier so copy and paste…

Can’t say on limited info but depending how long you’ve been keto and how much fat you have on your body, it may well be that your body is eating its own fat stores which is why you don’t feel hungry. This is why low calories don’t necessarily mess up metabolism, the body is still eating but from its own stores rather than your plate.
